Taylor had a therapy appointment at the clinic today. This gave me an hour of one-on-one time with just Paige. During this hour, I decided to take Paige to a nearby park to walk around the lake and look at the ducks.
It was a real treat for me to just spend time with one of the girls since this is always a rare occurrence for me. As we walked along the water’s edge, Paige and I chatted about all the ducks. Paige was very talkative since she didn't have to compete with her big sister Taylor who usually likes to dominate the conversations. She would point out a couple of ducks resting under a tree and would say, “Look, ducks are sleeping.” We walked a little further and happened upon a little family of ducks with 3 or 4 little ducklings and Paige said, “Momma and dada ducks and baby ducks.” Then, she would count the ducks saying, “One baby duck, two baby duck, three baby duck…”
Once we’d finished talking about the ducks, Paige directed her attention towards the water fountains shooting up in the center of the lake and said, “A waterfall, how vonderbul.” (Translation for vonderbul – that's Paige speak for wonderful).
I really enjoyed this time with just Paige. My only regret was that I didn’t have my camera with me today.
