Our Day in the Sun, After Many Days of Rain

After more than a week of non-stop rain in Northern California, the rain and clouds broke just long enough to give the twins and I a couple of hours in the sun on Saturday afternoon. Paige, Taylor and I piled into the car, loaded up our bikes, and took to one of the nearby lakes in our community. The afternoon was spent biking and hiking. Oh, and we also got chased by geese!

A cruise along the water's edge and a flock of Canadian geese to complete our outdoorsy experience.

This goose was NY-city style aggressive. It was relentless, fearless and wouldn't stop chasing us.

I think that's some kind of a warning sign when it spreads and fans out its wings at you...

It eventually came over and started to chase Paige on her bike.

After our bike ride, we run around the paths along the water's edge.

Nut Tree Park

Fall in Northern California is absolutely spectacular. The temperatures typically range between 70 - 80 degrees during the daytime and 50-60 degrees during the nighttime. Truly perfect temperatures to enjoy the outdoors! Knowing that we may only have a couple more weeks of sunshine and warm weather before our cold and rainy season begins, I'm taking advantage of the pleasant days that do remain to get outside with the twins as much as possible. We're doing as many trips to our neighborhood parks as we can. Today, we spent part of our day at a nearby children's amusement park Nut Tree Park located in Vacaville.

A Playdate at The Park with Friends

Today, the twins and I met a good friend of mine and her little girl for a playdate in the park. I always look forward to getting together with friends, especially when my friends have little tykes for Paige and Taylor to play with...it's like a double bonus. Bonus for me to have adult conversation and to catch up on life and ol' times. Bonus for the twins to have time to play with other little people just like them!
