Welcome!

Welcome to my blog - it's like a diary only better. This is my soapbox containing a collection of my thoughts and the experiences of my life raising twins.

Prior to this blog, prior to marriage and prior to the twinsanity that I now call my life, life was quite different for me. When you visit this blog, you won’t find me writing much about my life pre-twins – I hope that’s okay. Why? You ask. Because life with twins changes everything and my life pre-multiples is now just a dizzy, distant memory. And while it’s true that life years ago may have been a little more glamorous, the life I live now is a whole lot more rewarding and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

I’m glad you’ve stopped by...there’s a really strong chance that I won’t offer anything extraordinary here, but by the same token there is also the possibility that you will experience a taste of the adventures, challenges and many joys that come with my life with twins. Hopefully that will be enough to bring you back here again.

Have You Ever Seen Cords Like This?

I can still recall hearing the doctors and nurses in the delivery room remark “oh, my gosh, have you ever seen cords like this?”, “this is incredible”, “how did these babies survive to this point?” as they looked carefully at the twins’ cords during the C-section. The doctors later asked my permission to take photographs of the cords because they had never seen cord entanglement this severe. Of course, I granted permission….after all, at the time, I cared less about the cords and more about the well-being of the twins.

God was remarkably gracious in his provisions to the twins. Both were born ALIVE, and after a brief kiss from me to Baby “A” (Taylor Mackenzie) on the cheek, the twins were whisked away to the NICU for further assistance and monitoring.

God was ultimately in control of every detail of the twins’ lives throughout the pregnancy. God, in his sovereignty, brought an awesome OB/GYN into our lives to help protect the lives of the twins during the pregnancy and God gave the doctors the wisdom that fateful Sunday morning, December 11, 2005, when the distressed heartbeat of little Baby “A” (Taylor Mackenzie), revealed that it was time to welcome the twins into the world. I praise God for his provisions to us and to our twins and am so thankful for his faithfulness and love to us and the twins from the point of their conception, to their time in my womb right up to their exciting arrival in this world.
