Welcome!

Welcome to my blog - it's like a diary only better. This is my soapbox containing a collection of my thoughts and the experiences of my life raising twins.

Prior to this blog, prior to marriage and prior to the twinsanity that I now call my life, life was quite different for me. When you visit this blog, you won’t find me writing much about my life pre-twins – I hope that’s okay. Why? You ask. Because life with twins changes everything and my life pre-multiples is now just a dizzy, distant memory. And while it’s true that life years ago may have been a little more glamorous, the life I live now is a whole lot more rewarding and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

I’m glad you’ve stopped by...there’s a really strong chance that I won’t offer anything extraordinary here, but by the same token there is also the possibility that you will experience a taste of the adventures, challenges and many joys that come with my life with twins. Hopefully that will be enough to bring you back here again.

Christmas Pictures - Part 2

So, last week I took the twins to the mall to see Santa with high hopes of the girls sitting on Santa's lap and telling Santa just how nice they'd been all year long. Well, as it turns out, they turned out to be not such big fans of Santa, and wanted absolutely nothing to do with that jolly St. Nicholas person. I did manage to get a couple of really great pictures though as Santa's elves and helpers tried their best to coax Paige and Taylor into taking a picture with Santa...

This is how the photo session started.

And, here Paige and Taylor are cooperative, but remain very cautious and are not quite buying into this just yet.

Taylor sits now at attention, and Paige begins to ready herself to bolt.

Santa's elves and helpers, sensing that Taylor and Paige are on the brink of ditching this photo session, bring in some visual aides - fuzzy, rainbow colored dustmops - in an effort to get them to sit and smile for their photos.

Dustmop distraction thingie seems to work and buys Santa's elves and helpers a little extra time to click away on their camera as Taylor and Paige sit for just a few seconds longer.

And, another click or two of the camera.

And, then it happens....

Smiles no more. Laughter no more. It's a full-on meltdown. So, what was it that set Paige and Taylor off exactly? Well, if you look closely at the photos, Santa was always positioned behind the chair well out of view of Paige and Taylor. The ticket to getting them to sit and cooperate was tied directly to whether or not Santa was anywhere near them. So long as they couldn't see or hear Santa, they were good. They didn't know that Santa was around. Well, near the end of the photo session, one of Santa's little elves told Paige and Taylor to look behind them and they'd see Santa coming to visit them. And, when they did, lo and behold, there was Santa, standing waaaaaaaaay to close to them for their comfort. Immediately, both girls broke out in their loudest shrieks and the tears started flowing and as you can see from this last photo above, they were crying for their "moooooooommmmmmmmmy"!!!!
